Lorna Jane in Central Park

I first shared Lorna Jane, an Australian activewear brand, in my response to New York Finally Dresses Down. Lorna Jane opened its first store in Australia over two decades ago but has more recently opened shop in 20 California locations. Last month, Lorna Jane visited New York City for a few trunk shows, where I bought the Tempo Excel Tank. I loved the feminine cut and LJEXCEL fabric, especially for intense interval workouts, so I was thrilled when the Lorna Jane team sent me a few more pieces to put to the test.

While these photos were taken on an unusually warm day in Central Park, where leaves are finally changing colors, I tested my new Lorna Jane gear on a run over the weekend. You could say that the ING New York City Marathon acted as inspiration in more ways than one. More on that later. I mentioned that I love the LJEXCEL fabric. It claims to flatter, support, compress, and cool. I would agree that it does all of these things well. To the touch, Lorna Jane fabric feels thick and durable. No matter how you stretch, it doesn’t show through, but it also doesn’t show sweat during a workout. The bright colors remain true, which we all know is important to the girl with a drawer filled with neon gear.

I also love the feminine cuts and details of Lorna Jane’s tops. Some workout tanks have pretty straps that ultimately don’t support well. That’s not the case here. The Kasey Excel Tank features a scooped neck with crossed straps and piping in the back, but it definitely does its job while I’m sweating. I also love how the bright nectarine color pops against the teal Sorority Sports Bra. Want to know a little secret? Inside both the tank and sports bra, there’s a heart-shaped gem attached to the fabric on the left chest. A little something extra to make you smile pre- and post-workout. I also found these gems on the Lorna Jane Pinterest page. I love seeing how international fitness trends differ from US trends. But I can still see myself saying the below:

NOTE: Lorna Jane provided me with these products, but I was in no way compensated to review them on my blog. These are honest opinions.
