Over the last few days, two major fitness-meets-fashion collaborations were announced between major brands. I think both are very smart and can’t wait to see how they unfold.
SoulCycle + Shopbop — Yesterday, lifestyle websites were buzzing with the news that SoulCycle would be releasing an exclusive collection on Shopbop today. The collection, which is meant to transition from workout to hangout, comes at a time when many are recommitting to their fitness. Shopbop Fashion Director Elle Strauss told Women’s Wear Daily, “We were thinking about our girl and her lifestyle and SoulCycle kept coming to mind.” And I totally agree. The average SoulCycler probably already shops on Shopbop and is willing to spend big bucks on her workout gear. Pieces range from $48-$136 each and include tanks, tees, sweatshirts, shorts, and sweatpants. This collection is great for those who don’t live near a SoulCycle location but still want to represent the brand.

Fitbit + Tory Burch — On Tuesday at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Fitbit announced a partnership with Tory Burch. Fitbit already offers the Force and the Flex, wireless wristbands that track activity, sync stats, and help you identify trends in your movement. The wristbands come in few colors and are made of a rubbery material. With the rising popularity of wearable fitness devices, I think it’s about time a fashionista stepped in to update the design. The Fitbit website reads, “Transform your tracker into a super-chic accessory for work or weekend, day or evening. The signature colors, prints and designs of Tory Burch meet the technology of Fitbit Flex.” Click here for updates on the product release.
