Half Marathon Monday: The Polar Vortex is Back

Miles Run in January: 40 down
(Due to crazy weather this month, my goal might be revised. More on this later in the week.)

How It’s Been Going
Needless to say, the weather in New York (and in many other areas of the country) has been a doozy this month. It feels as though every day that’s been above 20 degrees has included rain, snow, or sleet. And sidewalks are constantly covered with a thin layer of ice. The weather has kept me from running outside as often as I’d like, some days for safety reasons and others because I can’t bring myself to get out there. I’ve done some miles on the treadmill and taken more classes than planned. It’s still 5-6 workouts per week, so I’m choosing not to get down on myself. After all, I have exactly three more months until my race. The polar vortex hasn’t completely held me back from training.
