InRefresh Electrolytes Review

I never drink sports drinks like Gatorade or Powerade during or after my workouts. I chug so much water to stay hydrated, that I’d rather not be gulping down a drink that tastes artificially sweet. A 12oz bottle of Gatorade has 80 calories and 21g of sugar in it. It’s also meant to be consumed when doing a high intensity workout (longer than one hour). It’s most appropriate for someone completing an endurance event like a marathon or triathlon. The electrolyte-balancing benefits are tempting, though.

InRefresh Electrolyte DrinkSo when Ignite Naturals sent me a box of InRefresh Electrolytes drink packets last week, I was intrigued. This drink is 100% Plant Based, Vegan, Non-GMO, and Gluten Free. Depending on the flavor, it’s only 3 calories and less than 375mg of sugar per serving. InRefresh Electrolytes comes in Dragonfruit Lemon Lime, Tangerine Passionfruit, Blueberry, Kona Blend, and Prickly Pear. The drink allows the body to quickly absorb vitamins and balances electrolytes during or after workouts.

I tried InRefresh Electrolytes after my 7 mile run on Saturday, which I was able to do outside in a mild 35 degrees with light snow. I decided to try Dragonfruit Lemon Lime first and dumped a whole packet into a glass of water. I must have had my powder-to-water ratio off the first time, because it tasted a bit milky. After adding more water, it was just right. The flavor is lightly sweet and has no artificial aftertaste. Yesterday, I tried Tangerine Passionfruit and liked it even more. I could see myself drinking InRefresh Electrolytes more regularly during or after a workout because it’s naturally refreshing, rather than syrupy like the drinks I’m used to.

NOTE: Ignite Naturals provided me with this product, but I was in no way compensated to review it on my blog. These are honest opinions.
