I usually thank my recent donors at the end of Half Marathon Monday posts, but last Friday, I was told that I’ll be receiving a special donation. On Valentine’s Day, BAC posted about Everyday Hero’s Show Some Love campaign. Everyday Hero aims to make giving easier, more accessible, and more enjoyable. They know that giving is about more than money. It’s about feeling a part of something larger than yourself.
Show Some Love was their effort to remind people that Valentine’s Day is about all different kinds of love. I tweeted using their hashtag because I loved the idea but didn’t realize I was entering myself into a contest. Last Friday, I received an email that I’d been selected for a $100 donation because my story inspired the Everyday Hero team. I may or may not have teared up at my desk at work. Thank you, Everyday Hero! And thank you to the following people for donating to support my training since my last update: Emily Cook Harris, Samantha Loadman, and Mr. & Mrs. Loadman. Click the heart to donate to LLS and help me reach my goal:
