Peak Week was difficult, based on more than high mileage, but it was successful. Despite being sick for most of the work week, I PR’d my 10k on Wednesday and my 5k on Saturday. I also toughed out 11 mi yesterday. They weren’t the prettiest miles I’ve ever run, but 11 is the most I’ve run at once. I was talking to a friend over the weekend about how I feel like an impostor calling myself a runner sometimes, considering I claimed not to be one for so long. But after a week like this, I feel worthy of belonging to the club. And in three weeks, I’ll be completing my first race.
In terms of how I fuel before/during/after my runs, I’ve mostly played around with different types of food and beverages. For instance, I love an apple with peanut butter before my run, will eat pretzel sticks during, and now have a thing for orange Gatorade afterward. But I haven’t tried supplements. When X2PERFORMANCE approached me about trying out their performance supplement, which is meant to naturally increase energy, enhance endurance, and improve recovery, I was curious. Each X2PERFORMANCE bottle contains 2 oz of liquid that’s meant to be consumed 30 minutes before an intense workout or competition. Since I’ve started my long-distance training, I’ve been looking for natural ways to boost my energy. My plan is to try the supplement this week, and I’ll report back about what I think. If you’d like to try X2PERFORMANCE with me, you can get a free sample (+ cost of shipping) using my referral link. Let me know what you think!
NOTE: X2PERFORMANCE provided me with this product and is compensating me for my review, as part of their Spring Ambassador Campaign. All opinions are my own.
