The OutdoorFest schedule for events on May 30-June 8 was released days ago. Hurry and sign up for a few, so you can kick off summer in the city by enjoying the outdoor beauty that New York has to offer. Here are my top five picks for the 10-day event. Let me know if you’ll be attending, too!
A Taste of Sailing by Sailors NYC (Saturday, May 31) — In this 2hr lesson under the views of downtown Manhattan you will learn the basic terminology and principals on how to sail a 30′ boat.
Sail into the Sunset with Atlantic Yachting (Friday, June 6) — Skip out of work early and head over to the 79th Street Boat Basin Marina to meet the crew of Atlantic Yachting. After a brief shoreside run-down, spend the rest of your two hours on the water with one of AY’s pro sailors getting a taste for sailing in NYC.
Intro to Stand Up Paddleboarding (Saturday, June 7) — In this session MKC instructors will introduce you to the world of SUP. There will be a 10 minute show and tell of the different types of boards, equipment and applications for SUP’s. This will be followed by a 10-15 minutes primer on basic techniques and board control for 30 minutes.
