July Goal Reflection: My July goal was to get my sleep schedule and nutrition back on track in preparation for race training. Since July 4, I have been taking the time to relax and focus on my health. It paid off. I felt prepared when I started training about two weeks ago. I’m now up to running a 10K long run and am starting to feel confident in my endurance again. If you read my post earlier this week, you know that was initially a challenge. Big lesson of the month – Don’t compare your in-progress self to your race-day self.
August Goal Setting: I’ll continue my training throughout August and am hoping to enjoy some new scenery along the way. It’s possible that I’ll be going to the beach twice this month and will be sure to bring my tennis shoes along. I’m also planning to run my first bridge and to run along the water in Brooklyn. Actually, I could show the East River some love, too. I’ve been completing my training runs in Central Park and along the Hudson. As always, follow along with my Half Marathon Monday posts and on Instagram. Are you training for a fall race, too? Leave a link to your blog in the comments!
