I mentioned in Monday’s post that I have exciting things planned for the coming months. Today I’m sharing three. While it’s only October, I’m already registered for three 2015 races–two half marathons and an obstacle course race. I chose each for a specific reason.
First, I’ll be running the Pittsburgh Half Marathon on May 3 in my hometown with many old friends. It will be extra special because my mom will be running her first half marathon with me. I’ve watched her slowly build her endurance as a new runner and am proud to say that she can now run 7 miles. There’s still plenty of time to prepare.
On May 9, I’ll be running my first Spartan Sprint at Citi Field. I registered for a Spartan Super that was in early September but decided over the summer that it wasn’t the best time for me to train. I’m looking forward to focusing equally on strength training and running to prepare for my first obstacle course race. I have a feeling I’ll be adding a Super to my race schedule next summer.
Three months later, I’ll be heading to Vancouver for the first time to run Lululemon’s SeaWheeze Half Marathon on August 15. I traveled to Canada many times for my brother’s hockey tournaments growing up, but it will be my first time on the West Coast. It will also be my first international race. I’ll be running this one with two friends from college.
Are you registered for any 2015 races yet?
