When I’m on a shorter run, I hold my iPhone in my hand with the slack of my headphones wrapped around my fist. When I’m on a Sunday morning long run, I dig through my armband every few miles for a Shot Block or two. At the end of the long run, I’m usually waddling into a Duane Reade and paying for a cold drink with a sweaty $5 bill. These are #RunnerProblems that I’m sure many can relate to. Terry White had similar frustrations and created a product to solve them. Enter WOLACO–Way of Life Athletic. The WOLACO North Moore Short, now live on Kickstarter, is about having form and function in your first layer. With two sweat-proof pockets, they promise your workout will never be the same.
Quite a few fitness-related Kickstarters land in my inbox every week. I’ve only featured two in the past (for Dear Kate and 305 Fitness), but I knew the North Moore Short was worth featuring when I found myself wishing that WOLACO offered women’s shorts. Crossing my fingers for Kickstarter #2. The Kickstarter team was just as excited and recently named the North Moore Short a Staff Pick. First, familiarize yourself with Version 1.0:
Version 2.0 is even better. The WOLACO team tweaked fabric, stitching, and fit for their shorts, which are now manufactured in Brooklyn. The North Moore Media Pocket is larger to accommodate the iPhone 6, and the Aux Pocket is stitched tighter for even better waterproofing. The shorts now come in blue, navy, black, and white. Sounds like they’d make the perfect holiday gift for brother, boyfriend, or any other guy in your life who trains, runs, plays, and sweats hard. Visit the WOLACO Kickstarter to pledge various amounts and receive shorts and t-shirts in February 2015.
