November Goal Reflection: If we’re being honest, I nearly forgot to write this post. I can’t believe the last month of 2014 begins tomorrow. I posted these healthy mantras almost a year ago! While I feel like November was limited to running, working, and blogging, it was a great month. I’m now six weeks away from running the Walt Disney World Marathon. In November, I ran new distances–15 miles, 16 miles, and 18 miles. I also followed a training plan by Jess of Race Pace Wellness and haven’t missed a workout. I’ve run easy, tempo, interval, hilly, early, late, and long miles. I’m growing faster and stronger. Jess has been a fantastic coach. I hear she’s offering a Cyber Monday deal on training packages. You don’t have to live in New York to run with her!
December Goal Setting: I’m excited to be training for my first marathon. I’m especially excited to be running that marathon on January 11. Many people start working toward major goals on January 1. I’ve been working toward this goal since July when I started training for San Francisco. It’s a jumpstart to a year filled with racing. In December, I’m ready to train my body and my mind even harder. I’ll be running even farther–up to 22 miles. My goal is to end 2014 feeling confident in my ability to run a strong marathon. When I registered for this race, I knew that the toughest part of my training would fall between Thanksgiving and Christmas. A secondary goal of mine is to maintain balance. I plan to fully enjoy the holidays. Running won’t change that. Here’s to a merry and challenging December.
Happy Golden Birthday to my brother, Grady!
