Adam Rosante was named one of the sexiest trainers in the country by SELF magazine and one of the six hottest trainers to watch by DETAILS. Last week, I got to work out with him on a C9 Champion set. Pinch me?! When I arrived at Target Studios, I chose my favorite outfit and hit hair and makeup before meeting Adam. He is incredibly friendly and encouraging, which put my nerves at ease.
Adam started by explaining the concept of his new book, 30-Second Body. Don’t be fooled. He’s not saying that the entire workout is less than one minute long. However, Adam is all about efficiency. His book is for you if you don’t have a lot of time, don’t want to go to the gym, or don’t know how to start getting in better shape. The first section is called Eat Clean–ditch diets and embrace healthy, whole foods. Next is Train Dirty–which is what we did on set. Finally, Live Hard–strengthening your mind to set yourself up for success.
Then it was time to begin. Adam’s workouts include a series of 30-second intervals of bodyweight exercises. For the shoot, Adam chose four exercises for me. After a dynamic stretch and warmup, we jumped right in. I did squats with a jump together at the top, star jumps, plank with knees to nose, and a difficult mountain climber variation. I completed each exercise for 30 seconds and did the full series three times. I’m not sure if it was the bright lights or my nerves, but I was dripping with sweat at the end. Adam’s workouts are no joke.
