Last summer, I shared the SIX:02 brand for the first time. If you’re still new to the brand, SIX:02 is a women’s retailer under the Foot Locker umbrella that carries all major brands, including Nike, Under Armour, Reebok, Adidas, etc (all conveniently categorized online). SIX:02 has almost 20 stores right now, including locations in New Jersey and Connecticut. The brand encourages every woman to take time for herself – whatever that looks like for her. Like me, SIX:02 believes in balance between working hard and taking the time to reward yourself. I love their brand statement:

6:02: The time she wakes up to go to the gym in the morning
6:02: The time she leaves work at night to attend her spin class
6:02: The miles she aspires to run, or beat

Recently, I attended a ReXist360 HIIT class and event at The Movement to preview the latest looks from SIX:02. The group of bloggers and editors wore this pinapple-printed look from Reebok to the event. When we arrived, we were encouraged to write our SIX:02 Moment on the mirror in the studio before viewing the latest gear, which now includes Alala and Lorna Jane! My moment will (fingers crossed) be PRing the Pittsburgh Half Marathon. After previewing the new collections, it was time to work. Shay Kostabi not only taught the class, but she also developed it using special resistance bands that velcro around your legs.

I had taken class before with Shay when she worked at FlyBarre and remembered really liking her. My memory was correct. Shay pushes you to use correct form and to give every move full effort while making you laugh and feel confident at the same time. To begin, she helped us strap into the ReXist360 band, which I knew would be a great low-impact strength option for runners. ReXist360 HIIT is a 45-minute high energy, high intensity resistance training class that is broken down into six supersets of high/low exercise blocks for total body conditioning with an intense focus on glutes, thighs, and core. Even movements like lunges, jumping jacks, and mountain climbers felt intense while wearing the band. You can tell that I’m focused and working hard in the photo above. I give Shay credit. She completed almost the entire class with us while cueing movements on her mic. I’m also pleased to report that the pineapple gear passed the sweat test with flying colors.
